The Renegades
This is a comic book I am illustrating for a friend of mine. He is an already published writer, and has always wanted to put out a family friendly comic that can be enjoyed by everyone. In this comic all of the characters dress in modest costumes, promote virtue, and show that it takes more than just beating up villains to be a true hero.
There has been a temporary delay on production due to my school schedule, but we hope to get started again as early as May 2012. There may also be changes to the characters you see now as I apply new skills learned in Chad Erikson's Character Design class.

Rennek (Rene)
This was the first sort of character profile I did. I tried to have her posing as if she were examining herself, a little uncertainly, in a mirror. In fact, rather than just showing what the character would look like, I wanted a little bit of each character's personality to show in each of the profiles.
Sketch (Zach)
This one was fun because I had to deal with more baggy clothing--which is a kind of interesting step outside of the norm for a super-hero character. I tried to balance out the colors with a warmer blue and adding a little bit of orange to his shoes. I'm still not sure if it works, and it my change just a little bit in the future.
Alloy
This one was a bit of a fight because I had to make him look unusually strong without making him look extremely muscular. The character is supposed to have been genetically engineered using the specialized traits of several animals. I had to try and hint at these traits, while still keeping his appearance mostly human.
Cory and Cindy
These are just two of the main side characters. You will be seeing more and better concept art of them in the future. Cindy was especially difficult, as I've found modest and trendy don't always go together. However, after a little research, I think I've found a happy medium.
